Can I look at a unit before I apply?

The Malden Housing Authority does not keep units open for viewing.  Our
maintenance staff works hard to renovate units as quickly as possible so
the next person on our list can be offered.  Once you apply and your name
comes to the top of the list, you will be made a written offer for a specific unit.  Once you are offered a specific unit, call our office to schedule an appointment to view it.

How long is the wait for housing?

The wait on each list varies, and it is impossible to give anything but an estimated amount of time.  It is best that you ask this question, at the time
you return your application so we can try to give you an estimated answer
based on the current waiting list.

Are there any activities offered in the buildings?

We are pleased you asked!  Our elderly and handicapped/disabled buildings each have a tenant implemented organization, that runs many holiday parties, day trips, bingos, fairs, exercise classes and coffee hours.  Most of are elderly/disabled buildings also offer internet access for tenant use and computer classes free of charge.  Some of our family developments offer educational and recreational activities.  This includes karate classes, computer education classes, adult diploma classes for residents eighteen and some recreational activities sponsored by the Malden YMCA.
